What should I do in an emergency or if I need care when the CHC is closed?

  • For a medical emergency on central campus, either use the campus yellow emergency phones or dial 9-9-1-1. If you are located in the university's Schoonover or Fredricks Park residential neighborhoods or off campus, dial 9-1-1.
  • When the CHC is closed and you do not have a medical emergency you may contact any healthcare facility of your choice (also see After Hours Care). OR, you may go to one of the following Doctor's on Duty (DOD) clinics for medical care. Students are asked to bring their current CSUMB identification. Although our primary focus is to serve CSUMB/CSU students, medical care is provided to the general public on a fee-for-service basis. Payment is the patient's responsibility.
  • Our hours of operation are from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, Monday through Friday.  We are open during the lunch hour year-round.  The CHC is closed on weekends, holidays, and winter break (including December 30).
